The GM AFM DFM Disabler combo kit pairs a plug and play disabler with an OBD2 16 pin 1 to 3 splitter extension cable. It holds your GM V8 or V6 in full cylinder mode and adds a clean way to run extra OBD2 accessories from one port.

Every AFM DFM Disabler module plugs into the factory OBD-II port and turns off Active Fuel Management and Dynamic Fuel Management with no tune or wiring. It ends the 4 cylinder shake, keeps full power, and leaves no ECU trace when unplugged.

The OBD2 16 pin splitter runs one male 16 pin J1962 connector to three female 16 pin J1962 connectors. The 50 cm flat low profile cable fits tight spaces and the individual power switches cut battery drain from idle OBD2 devices.

Will this AFM disabler work with my GMC Acadia or Chevy Traverse?

No. The AFM DFM Disabler is built for GM full-size trucks and SUVs with factory AFM or DFM. It is not made for mid-size crossovers such as the GMC Acadia, Chevy Traverse, Buick Enclave, or Cadillac XT5. On those vehicles it can cause RPM flutter and poor running when forced into full cylinder mode.

The AFM DFM Disabler and OBD2 splitter install in minutes with no tools, wiring, or programming. Both plug into the factory OBD-II port below the steering column so your GM V8 or V6 stays in full cylinder mode.

Install the AFM DFM Disabler

  1. Turn the engine off, remove the key, and wait 30 seconds for systems to power down.
  2. Find the 16-pin OBD-II port on the driver's side below the dash near the steering column.
  3. Plug the disabler into the port until it clicks and the blue light is solid.
  4. Start the engine and drive normally. Active Fuel Management and Dynamic Fuel Management stay disabled on your 5.3 or 6.2 while it is plugged in.

Add the OBD2 16 Pin Splitter

  1. Plug the splitter male end into the vehicle OBD-II port or into the disabler.
  2. Connect up to three compatible 16 pin OBD2 devices to the female ends.
  3. Use each power switch to cut drain from devices you are not running.
