Product Overview

The GM AFM DFM Disabler combo kit pairs a plug and play disabler with an OBD2 16 pin 1 to 3 splitter extension cable. It holds your GM V8 or V6 in full cylinder mode and adds a clean way to run extra OBD2 accessories from one port.

Every AFM DFM Disabler module plugs into the factory OBD-II port and turns off Active Fuel Management and Dynamic Fuel Management with no tune or wiring. It ends the 4 cylinder shake, keeps full power, and leaves no ECU trace when unplugged.

The OBD2 16 pin splitter runs one male 16 pin J1962 connector to three female 16 pin J1962 connectors. The 50 cm flat low profile cable fits tight spaces and the individual power switches cut battery drain from idle OBD2 devices.

Why Choose This GM AFM DFM Combo

Choose this EGR Performance combo when you want full cylinder power and a clean OBD-II port expansion in one box. The disabler keeps your GM engine out of 4 cylinder mode while the splitter powers scan tools, GPS trackers, and other 16 pin OBD2 gear without crowding the socket.

Complete Package Contents

  • 1 x AFM DFM Disabler module for GM V6 or V8 engines, 2005-2020.
  • 1 x OBD2 16 pin 1 male to 3 female extension cable with power switches.

Fit Your Vehicle with a GM V8 or V6 Engine

  • Chevrolet: Silverado 1500, Tahoe, Suburban, Avalanche, Camaro, Corvette, SS (2005-2020 with AFM or DFM)
  • GMC: Sierra 1500, Yukon, Yukon Denali, Yukon XL (2005-2020 with AFM or DFM)
  • Cadillac: Escalade, CTS, SRX, XTS (2005-2020 with AFM or DFM)
  • Buick: Enclave, LaCrosse (2005-2018 with AFM)
  • Pontiac: G8, Grand Prix GXP (2005-2010 with AFM)

The OBD2 16-pin splitter in this kit fits any vehicle with a standard 16-pin OBD2 J1962 port. The cable works on gas or diesel OBD2 vehicles, while the disabler stays GM-only.

Upgrade Your GM V8 or V6 Engine Performance

Paired with a disabler, your GM truck or SUV keeps full cylinder power on every drive. Add the right supporting parts and the 4-cylinder drop stays gone for good.

Recommended GM V8 V6 Performance Upgrades

  1. Chevy LS Performance Parts: add Chevy LS Performance Parts like intake and tune support so your 5.3 or 6.2 keeps full cylinder output after AFM DFM is disabled.
  2. LS Oil Catch Can: An LS Oil Catch Can traps crankcase vapor before it fouls the intake, a smart upgrade on a GM V8 that no longer drops to four cylinders.
  3. LS EGR Block Off Plate: Finish the build with an LS EGR Block Off Plate to clean the exhaust side on a dedicated off-road or competition GM V8 or V6.

Will this AFM disabler work with my GMC Acadia or Chevy Traverse?

No. The AFM DFM Disabler is built for GM full-size trucks and SUVs with factory AFM or DFM. It is not made for mid-size crossovers such as the GMC Acadia, Chevy Traverse, Buick Enclave, or Cadillac XT5. On those vehicles it can cause RPM flutter and poor running when forced into full cylinder mode.

How do I confirm fitment for my GM vehicle?

Send your 17-digit VIN to service@egrperformance.com before ordering. Our team checks your V6 or V8 engine and fuel management system and replies within 24 hours so you order the right part.

Will the OBD2 splitter fit my non-GM vehicle?

Yes, for the cable. The splitter fits any vehicle with a standard 16-pin OBD2 J1962 port, gas or diesel. The disabler itself stays GM-only, so the combo is a full fix on GM and a port expander elsewhere.

Does the splitter connect three devices at once?

Yes. The OBD2 16-pin 1-to-3 splitter is made to link up to three compatible 16-pin OBD2 devices through one vehicle port. Each female end passes the standard OBD2 pins listed in the specs.

Does the splitter support standard OBD2 protocols?

Yes. The extension cable uses direct pass-through wiring on the listed pins and works with standard OBD2 protocols. It is a diagnostic accessory and does not change vehicle calibration.

Is the AFM disabler plug and play with no tune?

Yes. It plugs into the OBD-II port and disables Active Fuel Management and Dynamic Fuel Management with no wiring or programming. It leaves no ECU trace, so unplug it and your 5.3 or 6.2 returns to stock behavior.

Will the disabler trip a check engine light?

No. The module is passive and does not rewrite the ECU, so it should not set a diagnostic trouble code on supported GM V8 or V6 engines running in full cylinder mode. If a light appears, check the OBD-II fuse and reseat the plug.

What is the splitter cable length and design?

The cable is 50 cm, about 20 inches, with a flat, low-profile build. That shape routes behind the dash where a bulky connector would not fit, and the three female ends sit clear of the driver footwell.

What do the individual power switches do?

Each switch controls one female port. Turn off a connected device you are not using to cut unwanted battery drain. This helps during long parking or storage when several OBD2 accessories stay plugged in.

What warranty is included with this combo?

EGR Performance backs the OBD2 splitter with a 1-year manufacturer warranty against defects. For the disabler fitment, warranty, or help, email service@egrperformance.com with your VIN and order number.

Installation Guide

The AFM DFM Disabler and OBD2 splitter install in minutes with no tools, wiring, or programming. Both plug into the factory OBD-II port below the steering column so your GM V8 or V6 stays in full cylinder mode.

Install the AFM DFM Disabler

  1. Turn the engine off, remove the key, and wait 30 seconds for systems to power down.
  2. Find the 16-pin OBD-II port on the driver's side below the dash near the steering column.
  3. Plug the disabler into the port until it clicks and the blue light is solid.
  4. Start the engine and drive normally. Active Fuel Management and Dynamic Fuel Management stay disabled on your 5.3 or 6.2 while it is plugged in.

Add the OBD2 16 Pin Splitter

  1. Plug the splitter male end into the vehicle OBD-II port or into the disabler.
  2. Connect up to three compatible 16 pin OBD2 devices to the female ends.
  3. Use each power switch to cut drain from devices you are not running.

Unplug the disabler before dealer service so the OBD-II system reads clean. Unplug during storage for more than three days to avoid minor battery drain.

This kit is intended for off-road and competition use only. Check local rules before use on public roads.
