What is a Cummins Delete Kit?
A Cummins delete kit is a performance upgrade for Cummins diesel engines (5.9L/6.7L) in RAM trucks, designed to remove restrictive emissions systems like the DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter), EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation), and DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid).
These kits, intended for off-road or racing use, boost horsepower (20–150 HP), improve fuel economy (1–7 MPG), and reduce maintenance by eliminating soot buildup and high exhaust temperatures.
They typically include delete pipes, block-off plates, and tuners to reprogram the ECU, preventing error codes. Always verify local emissions laws, as these kits are illegal for on-road use in many regions.
Key Components of the Cummins Delete Kit
A Cummins delete kit typically includes everything you need to improve the performance of your turbo Cummins diesel engine.
Key parts include EGR delete plates that prevent exhaust gas recirculation and enhance combustion, DPF delete pipes that reduce exhaust backpressure, and DEF delete modules that eliminate urea requirements.
These components are tailored for Cummins engine upgrades, such as those found in the 2008 Cummins 6.7 turbo or 2017 Cummins delete kit models.
Why You Should Install a Cummins Delete Kit?
Installing a Cummins delete kit offers several key benefits.
For starters, it increases horsepower and torque, allowing for improved towing capacity and performance under heavy loads. In addition, by eliminating components like the EGR and DPF, your 6.7 Cummins parts will operate more efficiently, reducing fuel consumption and extending engine life.
This is especially true for EGR performance diesel applications, where high-power, low-maintenance performance is crucial. Whether you're upgrading a 2014 Ram 3500 delete kit or enhancing a 2018 Ram 2500 delete kit, the performance gains are clear.
How a Cummins Delete Kit Works with Diesel Tuners?
For the ultimate performance, pair your Cummins delete kit with a diesel tuner. The tuner will recalibrate your engine’s ECU, optimizing it for the changes made by the delete kit and ensuring it runs smoothly without triggering error codes.
This combination is perfect for Cummins engine upgrades, offering improved turbo spool, better fuel efficiency, and enhanced overall engine performance.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is it legal to use Cummins delete kits on my RAM truck?
A: No. Cummins delete kits (DPF/DEF/EGR) are illegal for on-road use in the U.S. under EPA regulations due to emissions violations. They’re legal for off-road/racing use only. Check local laws before ordering.
Q: Can a Cummins diesel delete kit void my vehicle’s warranty?
A: Yes. A delete kit can void parts of your warranty, especially for emissions-related components, under the Magnuson-Moss Act if the modification causes damage.
Q: How difficult is it to install a Cummins delete kit?
A: Most kits are DIY-friendly with guides, taking 2–6 hours. Basic mechanical skills help, but professional installation is recommended.
Q: How do I check if a delete kit fits my specific RAM model?
A: Check compatibility. Review the kit’s product page (e.g., egrperformance.com) for your engine (5.9L/6.4L/6.7L) and model year. Confirm with the supplier if unsure.
Q: How do I maintain my engine after installing a Dodge Cummins delete kit?
A: Regular maintenance. Use high-quality fuel, monitor exhaust temps, maintain oil changes, and inspect turbo/components frequently. Follow tuner guidelines.

Works great 👍
AFM/DFM Disabler RA003 | Disable Active/Dynamic Fuel Management
Works great would definitely buy it again
I don't even remember how I came across your delete plug, but it did the job. No check engine light!
Works like a champ! Only thing I don’t like is the light is so bright at night but I love how it turns off when vehicle is not running!!
Product was as expected and was a perfect fit. Very good quality. Wish there had been a offering for plug off kit for the smog pump and intake. I made parts out of the stock pile. Lol. Very satisfied.

EGR Simulator Eliminator / Block Off Plate Kit for 1986-1995 Ford F150 F250 F350 Mustang Trucks
This not only disabled the irritating 4cylinder mode but as a pleasant side effect this also cleaned up the erratic transmission shift points. My truck now runs as a 5.3 liter V8 should.
I’m honestly surprised. Best $50 I’ve ever spent.
Do it 👍
AFM/DFM Disabler RA003 | Disable Active/Dynamic Fuel Management
Appears to be working flawlessly. Excellent price and so far haven't seen a significant change in milage, plus throttle seems more responsive. Hopefully this helps my Jasper replacement engine live a good long life.🤞
Does exactly what its advertised to do, completely shuts off the V4 fuel management system. Also, I noticed no pedal lag. Definitely a lifesaver for the 5.3.
Happy with the AFM disabler so far. Would have like more updates before the unit was shipped.
very happy
Bought a egr block for my 1993 gmc suburban 2500 454 it fit perfectly they sent new hardware to mount but I just used old nuts cause it was easiest. Fast and perfect couldn’t have been better
